  • What type of curriculum do you use?
We believe that children learn through play. Because of this philosophy, we have chosen to use the research based Creative Curriculum for Infant, Toddlers and Twos and Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood. This curriculum allows our teachers the freedom to be creative and responsive to children. Creative Curriculum uses the environment to encourage learning. Interest areas are set up to encourage children to explore and learn from personal experience within their environment. Our teaching staff focuses on the individual child and pulls information and knowledge from a wide and varied toolbox of resources at their disposal. By combining the research proven methods outlined in the Creative Curriculum with their own personal knowledge of each child and their strengths to create a personalized experience. Our goals for Creative Curriculum and individualized instruction: Differentiate Learning for every child by providing individualized instruction Build children's confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills through hands on project based investigations Engage families and navigate the ever-changing learning environment Promote and build a social emotional foundation that every child needs for success later in their academic career Promote Language and Literacy skills
  • What do you mean by "We participate in the USDA food program?"
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal program that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults who are enrolled for care at participating child care centers, day care homes, and adult day care centers. CACFP also provides reimbursements for meals served to children and youth participating in afterschool care programs, children residing in emergency shelters, and adults over the age of 60 or living with a disability and enrolled in day care facilities. CACFP contributes to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children and adults in the United States. What this means for your family: You can be assured that our facility prepares all meals on site. We use fresh ingredients as often as possible. Fresh fruits and vegetables are the staple for each meal No sugary snacks or juices are served as part of our food program. Whole grains and whole wheats are used in place of enriched white grains We use very little processed meats or food. Your child will be encouraged to try a variety of foods We work closely with each individual family to follow cultural and/or religious preferences. We adhere strictly to dietary, allergy, or other specialized restrictions. At the current time our facility is a LIMITED Peanut/Nut/Egg facility. While we do not prohibit them, we serve them on a limited basis because of current allergy restrictions in two of our classrooms.
